Terms of service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of this website and services provided by Volunteer Aerial Technologies LLC (“VAT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting, scheduling, purchasing, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our Services
Volunteer Aerial Technologies provides professional drone and aerial-support services, which may include thermal recovery, inspections, aerial mapping, search support, real estate photography and videography, and other lawful drone services offered by VAT.
Certain services may be unavailable depending on location, weather, airspace, equipment, regulations, safety conditions, personnel availability, or other circumstances.
A service request submitted through our website does not guarantee a booking. A job is confirmed only after VAT accepts the request and the customer agrees to the applicable scope and pricing.
2. Legal and Safe Operations
All flights are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, FAA requirements, airspace restrictions, property-access requirements, weather conditions, and VAT’s safety judgment.
VAT may delay, modify, decline, or terminate a flight when we reasonably believe that continuing would be unsafe, unlawful, outside the agreed scope, or inconsistent with applicable regulations.
No customer may require or instruct VAT to conduct an unlawful flight or operation.
3. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information about the requested service, including the location, property boundaries when relevant, site conditions, hazards, access information, and the purpose of the flight.
The customer is responsible for obtaining any property-owner permission, site authorization, or other consent legally required for the requested service unless VAT expressly agrees in writing to obtain it.
The customer represents that they have the authority to request the work being performed.
Additional costs or delays caused by inaccurate information, lack of access, missing permissions, changed site conditions, or an expanded scope may result in additional charges.
4. Deer and Wildlife Recovery
Drone-assisted deer or wildlife recovery is performed only when legally permitted and must comply with current Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency requirements and all other applicable laws.
Customers are responsible for providing truthful information regarding the animal, hunting location, shot or injury circumstances, property permission, and other information necessary to determine whether a recovery operation may legally be performed.
VAT may refuse or terminate a recovery if required permission is unavailable, applicable regulations cannot be satisfied, the operation appears to constitute hunting rather than lawful recovery, or the flight otherwise cannot be conducted legally or safely.
Drone recovery does not guarantee that an animal will be located, recovered, accessible, or suitable for retrieval.
5. Inspections and Aerial Mapping
VAT may provide aerial imagery, measurements, mapping, documentation, visual observations, thermal imagery, or related information.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a written agreement, VAT does not provide licensed land-boundary surveys, legal property-line determinations, engineering certifications, structural certifications, or other professional services that legally require a separately licensed professional.
Aerial imagery and measurements should not be relied upon as a legal boundary survey or professional engineering determination.
6. Search and Rescue Support
VAT may provide aerial or thermal support to assist search efforts.
VAT is not an emergency dispatch agency and does not replace law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, emergency management agencies, or trained search-and-rescue organizations.
For an active emergency or immediate threat to life, contact 911 or the appropriate emergency authority.
7. Estimates, Pricing, and Payment
Pricing may vary based on service type, travel distance, flight time, project complexity, access, site conditions, regulatory requirements, deliverables, and other factors.
The customer will be informed of applicable pricing or the method used to calculate pricing before the service is performed whenever reasonably practical.
Additional work outside the original scope may require additional payment.
Any travel fee, dispatch fee, search fee, success fee, deposit, or other charge will apply only when communicated as part of the customer’s quote or service agreement.
Payment is due according to the terms communicated for the particular job.
8. No Guaranteed Result
Drone technology can greatly improve visibility, access, coverage, and efficiency, but results cannot be guaranteed.
Factors such as terrain, vegetation, structures, temperature, weather, wildlife movement, signal limitations, thermal conditions, line of sight, lighting, airspace, property access, equipment limitations, and other conditions can affect results.
Payment for a service is generally payment for VAT’s time, travel, professional operation, equipment use, expertise, and agreed work—not a guarantee of a specific discovery, outcome, image, measurement, inspection finding, or recovery.
If a quote includes a separate performance-based or success-based fee, that fee will be charged only according to the conditions communicated with that quote.
9. Weather, Airspace, and Operational Delays
Drone operations may be delayed or cancelled because of rain, wind, visibility, temperature, airspace restrictions, temporary flight restrictions, equipment conditions, regulatory requirements, emergency activity, or other safety concerns.
VAT has final authority regarding whether its aircraft will be flown.
Where practical, VAT may offer to reschedule work affected by these conditions.
10. Deliverables
Deliverables may include photographs, video, maps, thermal images, flight information, location information, reports, measurements, or other agreed materials.
Deliverables are intended for the purpose described in the applicable project or service agreement.
VAT is not responsible for decisions made by the customer or third parties using imagery, measurements, observations, or other information outside their intended purpose.
11. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, travel charges, and payments for partially completed work are governed by VAT’s published Cancellation & Refund Policy and any additional terms communicated for the specific job.
12. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep this website accurate, but service descriptions, availability, pricing, coverage areas, equipment, regulations, and other information may change.
Website content does not constitute a guaranteed quote, professional engineering opinion, legal survey, legal advice, emergency-service commitment, or guarantee that VAT will accept a particular project.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VAT will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or speculative damages arising from use of our website or services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VAT’s total liability relating to a particular paid service will not exceed the amount actually paid to VAT for that specific service.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right or liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
14. Privacy
Information submitted through this website or in connection with our services is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
16. Changes to These Terms
VAT may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time services are requested will generally apply unless different written terms are agreed upon.
